I'm happy - thrilled! - to meet my 2nd beloved daughter, born last week. Phew...
Now each of us, Mara, Jackie & I, have been able to test our TendHer Pillows in real life, from the trenches. I'm happy to say, I love the product even more! I actually said to my husband as I placed one of those "Ah" puppies in my bra, "Whoever invented these is BRILLIANT!" I don't know if he had lost his sense of humor, or if he had assumed that I had lost mine, but it took him about 5 seconds to get my joke.
Breastfeeding still hasn't been easy, even though it's my 2nd child. This birth was a c-section - the previous one was vaginal - and so it has been harder to maneuver myself and the baby around to get the perfect latch. Between compromised latches and soccer ball boobs (in both hardness and size), my nipples took some serious strain. I had scabs on my right nipple for a while and changed from the cross-cradle hold to the football hold to better distribute the pain. Youch. It still just hurt so much. Putting a smooth cool TendHer Pillow in afterwards has been.... ecstasy.
Even though only one side is scabbed, I've been using the TendHer Pillows on both nipples - because no matter how much your nursing PJ's have been endorsed by La Leche League, the fabric still may stick to your nipple and it's horrible to have to peel it away. Youch! Have I said that yet? I love putting some MotherLove nipple cream on, and the bare pillow in, and the nipple can just rest in a smooth, replenishing facial of sorts. After 30 - 60 minutes I take it out and let it get some air, but wow, it feels and looks so much better at that point.
And there's another prototype we're testing that I'm making tremendous use of for breastfeeding pain relief. We will get that out to you ladies as soon as humanly possible! I hope Pariday's products will help you as much as they have helped me. Because we're mothers. We don't have time to bleed.
With love and joy,
